Well, I'm trying to keep an open mind and understanding so the Holy Spirit can fill me however He wants. I still don't claim to understand it completely however...perhaps in time the pieces will all fit together.

So like the post I made about "The Breath of God", a person will have the breath of God when he/she is born....a spark of God, so to speak, but they must be continually filled with the Spirit....born from above to have everlasting life.

If that breath of God which not only gives us life but gives us our essence of who we are at birth, then the being born of the Spirit would have to be something else....in addition. Just being born may be a way to have a soul and spirit but not enough to have fullness of Spirit. To be born again.
