I spent two years in the quiet of the desert many years ago, and indeed it is different from anything that I've experienced. That is not however spiritual the way you speak of, it's simply away from the market-place, nothing else.
It appears that in your assumption 'anything goes' as long as one 'walks though it', where I would call that 'experience' then move on, I see no difference between them. You appear to make meditation the be-all end-all of enlightenment, you speak of the 'tree of knowledge' as another 'walk through' as if it mattered not disobeying God's command. Well you can take that path, or meditate because it makes no difference, it still going your own pathway , not God's,it's your choice like it was Adams.
