I do believe probiotics like acidophilus will help. You must understand the logic behind it. For most of us, peeling lips is due to internal deficiency and also toxicity due to leaky gut. Yes different people has different perception of good diet. But from my research and reading from those who are cured, theres a general rule to follow and that is they avoid sugar, flour, condiments, aritificial flavourings and other toxic food. Actually i dont really think that allergy is the root cause for me. Well each of our case is different, but i think if allergy to certain food is the cause, then the symptom will not just happen at the lips. For example, when my friend ate prawns (which he is allergic to), his WHOLE body will itch. I also dont believe in using any drugs like Benadryl. Thanks Samaritan. Sometimes i just find doctors just lump many skin conditions under this name ”Eczema” when in fact they can be very different. Im still monitoring the skin on my face. It seems to get flaky and peel off. And yes, theres itchiness. Lets us really band together to fight this together. I have always been healthy in life, no history of allergy, eczema or whatever, but 2007 has been an uneventful year for me.... Can anyone check the term Seborheic Dermatitis ..   [End]

My condition has spread to the face and my derm call it eczema. Its quite sad to have EC and now i have eczema. My EC is now under control with steroids. For my eczema, i try not to think about it. I think Eczema is too broad a term for many different kinds of skin conditions. Mine is mainly skin hardens on the face. And it sheds by tiny flakes. It can be itchy sometimes, but no bleeding or blisters. I believe it started with cheilitis on my lips. And now spreads to my face. Its quite sad because i have never have this condition before. Derm said it most probably is eczema due to my hypersensitive skin. Its been 3 weeks already and no sign of clearing. Is this eczema?   [End]

I have been under tremendous stress for the past few months. Have seen countless derms, doctors and going to see the 3rd TCM doctor this Sunday. Its only when i been through this then i can truly miss the times when my lips were truly luscious, smooth and not peeling a single flake (that was half a year ago). I use parafin and so far, its doing quite fine. But im afraid EC is spreading. Does EC spread to other parts of the face? My friend said that EC should not be a skin disorder because if it is, it should happen much earlier and not now. He also said that if its spreading, means it most probably should be an infection. If it is genetic triggered, then it should not spread. My EC is quite bad because once i dont apply parafin, it will peel by layer. Currently my lips look a bit swollen. I had EC for the past 4 months and have tried all sorts of things. The next 2 weeks i will be trying the following: 1) Follow a Traditional Chinese Medicine regime 2) Take out Mercury fillings 3) COntinue on nutritional diet I live in sunny city of Singapore.
