Re: 3d time around...
It looks like I am not alone in emphasizing the importance of stress as a cause of my candida problem; I am sorry for the problems you experienced, but I am glad we are finally talking about stress as a cause of candida on this forum, as I had the feeling some candida sufferers thought of their problem in purely mechanical terms; you know, caught a bad bug, wil kill it by ingesting a lot of substances, supplements, etc. and everything will be ok.
Like you, I lived on adrenaline all the time that it took to overcome the trauma of a tragic passing and settle the estate; once all the paperwork was finished, I collapsed and became allergic to everything. It's like I gave myself permission to collapse once all the material/money problems were settled.
of course, this stress came to me and there was nothing I could do to change the way these events happened; however, I realize now that I dealt badly with the stress--instead of giving me permission to cry sometimes, show weakness, and find people to help me and lean on, I refused to show any weakness, kept a stiff upper lip and tried to be a problem solver and a tower of strenght for everyone.
By refusing to acknowledge my own emotions, by forcing myself to confront a serie of obstacles head on, without help or respite, I literally made myself sick.
We have limited control on what happens in our lives but we have some control on how we deal with stress. My way was clearly the wrong way; unfortunately, it's the way most of us are taught.
