Hi, I am sorry to hear that. You must have a VERY BAD oncologist. Where do you live?!?!?!? Believe me, nobody tells you that chemo does not work after 2 rounds of chemo. Nobody!!! If you are platinum resistant - and I assume you got taxol/carbo, which is a standard - they have about 10 (or even more) other different chemos avaialble. To send you home with morphin is totally unacceptable!!!! I am sorry if my message is so strong, but I have dealt with ovarian cancer for 6 years now, not myself, but my mom has it, but I read everything available. The ovarian forum on the link I gave you in my previous post has women with various stages and different chemo protocols. There are some who have been trying different chemos for 4,6, 8 years and still are around! The side effect from chemo can be managed. Please, please, try to find a different oncologist. Please post to the ovarian Cancer Forum , there are hundreds of women from all parts of U.S., Canada, Europe... and they can give you recommendation of a good doctor in your area. Please do not waste your time. I do believe in alternative treatments (my mom was taking Essiac tea, maitakee mushrooms with chemo), but I think especially when a cancer is agressive, alternative treatment itself may not always work. Do you have a copy of your lab report? Most of ovarian cancers are serous papillary. How have you been staged - stages are I through IV, grade indicates aggresisivy (low malignant and than grade 1-3).
