All I can tell you is what I read from a couple of books about MSM.

Sulfur is required by your liver to produce peroxides, if no sulfur is available you don't get the production and more toxins are dumped into the kidney/bladder.
Even small amounts of heavy metals can make normal levels of sulfur unavailable for this.

But sulfur is also required to destroy the peroxides once the liver is done with them, and the liver will hold onto stores of watery peroxides if the sulfur is not available for that.

The MSM dosage under my profile came from the book: "Flood your body with Oxygen" it also tackles the peroxide issue and how sulfur is required to build flexible oxygenating cells. But the first book I ever read about this in detail was from "Eating Alive" Dr. Matsen.
