Laughinggrrl, I'm hoping that...
you can translate this study into laymen's terms...I'm under the impression that you have a background in science? Anyway, in this study, evening primrose oil was administered to rats, who were then given braces(orthodontia)...Apparently the evening primrose oil increased the rate of osteoclast activity?
Here's a definition of osteoclast:

Apparently, increased osteoclast activity is desirable when rearranging one's teeth...the reason that I am researching this is because of...
"Evening primrose oil, also known as EPO, is perhaps the best-known supplement for fighting inflammation. One of the more interesting findings of recent research is preliminary evidence that EPO can help the repair of the enamel of the teeth. The essential fatty acids in EPO help the body make hormones that relieve inflammation and stop a process leading to hormones that cause inflammation, making EPO helpful for persons who have eczema or arthritis."

Anyway, this is what I've been able to find, so far...

In my non-scientific way, I'm thinking that along with stimulating osteoclast activity, EPO may also stimulate osteoblast activity... :)
