Re: hey somer-can you advise on where to get the best liver cleanse directions?
Of COURSE the canula that is inserted is disposable!! She has state of the art equipment, a wonderful experience. You can watch everything go through the clear glass tube, in a lighted box (!) before it goes down the drain. She uses heavy duty massage to move things along and can tell you a lot about what is going on in your colon by what she is seeing in the tube and the massage.
It is well worth finding a good pro.
As far as negative info about colonics... the worst thing I have heard is that enemas and
colonics can become addictive (as in, you need them to move your bowels and cannot move them yourself through natural peristalsis). This may be true of enemas overused on a daily basis. However, NO ONE abuses professional
colonics on a daily basis (at $50 or so a whack!!) ... they are used strictly as a prophylactic measure as needed. The water circulates throughout the entire lenghth of the colon during the hour procedure (unlike an enema, which is in and out), flushing gunk as it goes. The therapist can apply pressure if needed for stubborn gunk (like mine), which is incredibly effective!
colonics actually help rebuild the tone of a weak colon.
I owe a good deal of my current wonderful health to professional colonics--and of course, juice fasting.
