Generally speaking, ideal blood pH is 7 (neutral). According to my doctor, who I trust more than Burroughs or Moreless, if the pH of morning saliva is consistently between 6.5 and 7.2, then you are OK. Urine should be slightly acid; in fact highly alkaline urine could indicate kidney disease. The skin also has an acid mantle to keep it moist and supple. Alkaline soaps and baths can dry out the skin and leave it susceptible to infections and fungus. In a nut shell, eat more greens and raw fruits to alkalinize and reduce meats, grains and dried beans which tend to be acidic. I started using green food drinks and got my pH level up quickly. A roll of pH tape is a good investment. Proper eating is essential. However according to my doctor there is a lot more to good health than fretting over pH, I agree with him.
My doctor suggested an 80-10-10 diet-80% fruits and veggies, 10% animal products (meat and dairy) and 10% grains. All junk food is included in the grain catagory.
