Chinaberry Destroys Parasites and Treats Tinea (fungal diseases of the skin).
In my backyard there stands a huge Chinaberry tree that's absolutely ~loaded~ with fruits. It's considered an invasive species but I've always thought this tree had to be good for something... And apparently it's an old remedy for worms and fungus! Just like most everything though, too much is toxic. I'm willing to risk it, but need to educate myself a little more on it... Anyone know anything about Chinaberry?
Chinaberry’s active pesticidal component Azadirachtin:
Azadirachtin is biodegradable (it degrades within 100 hours when exposed to light and water) and shows very low toxicity to mammals (the LD50 in rats is > 3,540 mg/kg making it practically non-toxic).
"To treat ascariasis (infestation with or disease caused by ascarids--any of a family of worms that includes the common roundworm parasitic in the human intestine), oxyuriasis (infestation with or disease caused by pinworms), ancylostomiasis (infestation with or disease caused by hookworms), etc.
The alcohol extract of chinaberry bark has obvious inhibitory effects on a variety of common pathogenic fungi."

Here's a recipe I found that uses the berries to make a
Psoriasis shampoo that supposedly works better than any store bought stuff:
Just toss a couple of handfuls of berries into some boiling water. After 30 minutes smash the berries, strain mixture so you just get a brown pulpy liquid. Shampoo as normal just don't expect lather. Stops the itchy, flaky scalp right away.
Doesn't seem to keep well so I just make small batches.
I haven't tried this yet, but I'll probably just liquify the berries in the Nutribullet and add it into any shampoo.
