Good point... we have the right amount of everything we need, and "everything" is working correctly, humming along; but then loses supporting factors, over time, or suddenly, that are required through a lack of nutrition in the diet AND/OR must deal with metabolic/hormonal disruptor that depletes our resources... except for the calcium...
I would have to say that calcium absorption would be compromised through the reduction in available co-factors, and that the body would attempt to minimize damage in some way; unless the feedback mechanism were broken... in this case, one would hope that the problem would be only temporary... if not, successive generations would continue to experience a potential slide in health while the body tried to make necessary adaptations to, and use ANY available nutritional factors.
We all have "different" adaptive strengths and weaknesses, AND we are always in a state of change or flux...
