Re: WEARING DIAPERS SERIOUSLY MANAGES YOUR HEALTH
I agree,
My IBS has been rough for about 12 years now, after my gall-bladder removal, really bad. I'd be soiling myself 4 times a day regardless of immodium, kegel exercises, and other prescribed treatments. I started wearing diapers a while ago to actually save money on soiled underwear and embarrassment. One day I had my usual sudden urge just before getting ready to shower so I just let it go without actually trying to hold it in. I couldn't believe it. For the first time in a decade there was no spasms, no pain, no straining for 10-15 minutes afterwards because my bowel would not realize it was empty. I decided at that point to just wear and use the diapers all the time, without holding it. I essentially un-potty trained myself. I have already been through the worst case scenarios with leakage and accidents, so soiling my diaper was actually far less embarassing. I can say that ALOT of my stress, discomfort, and reluctance to get out and enjoy life has disappeared. My doctor thinks that surgery should be performed, but honestly... why? He can't give me very good odds, and I don't want them hacking away at my posterior on a chance at normal pain-free function. This, like any medical solution or decision for that matter, is the best option for ME. Obviously others see it differently, but that's why WE get to make out treatment options and not the doctors.
