Re: Day 14: 2 weeks completed!
Thanks Chris, that's what I thought. I guess what's making me nervous is that it is my first time down this road. It just feels really weird, not being hungry and not eating!
Looking at it another way, I suppose my main worry is "you are what you eat", but then again I suppose that's what fasting and subsequent healthy eating is supposed to sort out, i.e my past errors.
However this forum is very reassuring, and I am sure that after I have completed my first fast, I will be more than happy to do another. Especially as next time I will make sure that my body is full of the right stuff before I start it.
By the way, I happened to come across "gluttony" as being one of the seven deadly sins when searching for nutritional issues on the web. I am by no means hung up on any particular religion, I have my own views, but I did once look into the bible and found a whole load of mis-translations or transliterations. The word "sin" for example comes from an ancient Greek word used in archery, and it means quite literally "to miss the mark". So I agree that our "buy one get one free" processed food supermarket type gluttony is a sin, but not in the same sense as the King James Bible. Long live organic fruit and veg! Sorry for that ramble, had to get it off my chest!
