Hi,
I just thought I would offer my 'two cents' : ))
Your mentioned the following symptoms: very dry skin, hormone instability, low blood
Sugar episodes, cold hands and feet, poor circulation
I had all of these. The dry skin requires plenty of essential fatty acids, which does include fish oil and flax seed. Perhaps you need much more than the quantity that you are currently ingesting. I use a thick homemade mayonnaise that has much oil in it. It tastes delicious. By the way I actually started having patches of brown dried skin prior to increasing my EFAs. Scary!
The low blood
Sugar episodes and cold hands and feet were reduced dramatically with continued cleaning and diet. My 'better' circulation, I attribute to exercise and increased use of cayenne pepper everyday. It is also good for reducing the amount of mucous build-up. Shelley refers to the use of spicy foods as pugnent (sp?) therapy!
Regarding your diet, I know it can be difficult. It is important to know what causes a yeast reaction in YOUR body. I would suggest stopping some of the foods you have in your diet for 2-3 weeks and then slowing introduce them backe. See if you have a reaction. Your diet is not bad, though it could use a few adjustments :)) There are cereals and pasta that you can buy that are rice based. In the early stages of my diet I made the mistake of eating organic yoghurt from grocery stores. They are high in
Sugar and lactose...not good. You can buy Kefir grains online very cheaply. Kefir is an excellent probiotic used to keep the bad yeasties in check. If you or anyone wants the site, just ask. I am having some grains delivered shortly. I am very excited! The rye bread probably has gluten in it -- I don't know. Try the buckwheat pancake recipe (it's on the forum or I can post it again - just ask). I let the pancakes get cold and slice them. It makes a wonderful bread substitute.
Now for the biggie...sugar...try xylitol. It has many benifits. It actually 'helps' prevent the growth of yeasties somewhat. I am not sure how it all works. It helps the enamel on your teeth! Anyway I used to mix the xylitol with some lemon juice (heat it somewhat or not) and drip it on my pancakes! Very delicious! It is so sweet that I haven't used it in a while. After you are on the candida diet for a while the sugar cravings are drastically reduced and many have said that sugar actually becomes a 'turn off'.
I have to mention that
parasite cleanses and
Liver Cleanses are necessary. Many people have candida for various reasons. It is best to eliminate or ensure it is not parasites.
Liver Cleanses are , I believe, an absolute must. Candida, when it dies off and when it lives, produce many, many toxins. The liver must deal with it. If the liver gets the much-needed help it deserves, then it will help your body filter the toxins. The yeasties feed off the toxins (regardless of where the toxins emanate from). If the liver is doing a good job cleaning, you will have less toxins for the yeast to feed on!! By the way, this is the reason caffeine is not good -- the liver has to work extra hard to detox the caffeine!!
Hair thinning. I thought I was going to have to get a wig, I lost sooooo much. I have made so many changes including the increase of EFAs my hair loss was reduced. I still have some hair loss. Someone suggested that dandruff was yeast. They mentioned that putting apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray it onto the head and leave for 20 minutes. It helps to kill the dandruff/yeast on your scalp. I have not tried it. I read an old post that suggested silca. If I think of other supplements that will help I'll let you know.
Many of it can be individual and perhaps others have different opinions...If there are any Qs...just ask...
Take Care,
Alex
