So Ive read that you use Oral B mouthwash + bepanthen in an effort to keep the mouth as clean and moisturized as possible and it worked for you to kill EC.
Did you have the same EC as most users here? on both lips peeling every 4th day on average, that gets white in water contact, and some white gunk?
Did you have any "raw skin" on the area that used to peel? and these areas of raw skin are healed as well with your treatment?
What brand of toothpaste do you use?
You said you brush your teeth + mouthwash 3times a day? do you also brush on tongue, gums etc?
Since you started this treatment, all white from inside your mouth (tongue, cheeks or gums) is gone?
Finally, in the first weeks how did you deal with your lips getting wet during brushing + mouthwashing? did you just let them dry and then apply bepanthen? Or did the brushing + mouthwashing sort of "cleared" the build up from your lips?

your EC is still at the same stage?
dont you feel that the inside of the mouth might be the root of the problem and if maybe we keep it crystal clean it will decrease EC?
I have personally noticed that i have a white biofilm in my mouth mucosa in the morning and developing during the day. Also in the areas where my lips meet, an area where ointments tend to disappear easily when we eat or talk or whatever, my lips feel "sticky" when they meet each other. Unless i put ointment.
I will start following sargvy treatment when my lip biopsy has healed.

However, if you would like to help the community further, it is important that we know more about the onset, duration and severity of your condition, tests you have done, treatments you tried (I know only that you did the leave-it-alone treatment for more than a month), and the exact time you have stopped each aspect of the treatment (if you do stop the regular mouthwash).
We need to try to confirm that you experienced moderate to severe EC (which most on here have to some degree, with or without inflammation), that you experienced gradual progress, and your case did not simply spontaneously heal coincidentally with this treatment. So any pictures to show the appearance of EC and the progression to being healed would be very helpful.
In the meantime, I think it's a given that everyone here should be paying extra attention to oral hygiene -- making dentist appointments, flossing, and brushing throroughly, and oil pulling even for those who are keen. Eliminate this as a potential factor, don't let your fear of touching your lips with water cause you to have microbial overgrowth!

This is a reply to # 2,094,125My peelings were like thick yellow sheets while I was using vaseline and I would peel them daily after the shower. After using bepanthen the peeling reduced. I started using bepanthen from last 5 months and in between I started following strict oral hygiene and peelings completely disappeared.
I used fluconazole ointment - no use (slightly beneficial effect)
miconazole+clobetasone butyrate - no use
0.1% protopic - worst
fluconazole+ hydrocortisone ointment - no use
moisturizers that worsened peelings
- vaseline
- bariederm
- biotherm - during this I developed allergy on lips
- 100% lanolin - no use
- Decubal - no effect
- many others I forgot brand names.
I accidentally picked up bepanthen in a pharmacy store one day, its just like providing external nutrition to the lips, the more I applied the more benefit I got from it.- Re: Hey Sargvy, just a few Questions... jle1987

Do you still have raw/reddish skin in the EC areas?

This is a reply to # 2,094,221Currently I am off the moisturizer, After hot shower my lips get little dry I can feel on touching, and they moisture themselves aftersometime. There is no peelings or going white at all. We have removed the candidal biomembrane by strict hygiene and now the outer layer of newly growing skin is extracting nutrients from basement membranes. Every thing back to normal!
Strict hygiene I mean
Brush in morning + mouthwash apply bepanthen
just squash water
don't eat or drink any thing in the middle, except water
then after lunch again use mouth wash if possible
use bepanthen as much as possible whenever you feel like.
then after supper, again brush and use mouthwash, and don't eat anything afterwards.

There are different kind of EC and mine is characterized by the "triangle" on my upper lip that is raw and reddish after peelings.
did you have the same kind of EC? if yes, is the raw skin healed as well?
And what do you mean by "just squash water"?
For the strict hygiene part i got it. Did you also insist on cleaning the tongue and mouth mucosa? Any kind of toothpaste is fine or do you have preferences?

This is a reply to # 2,094,240My EC type is inner half of lower lip and top lip where ever it touched the lower lip.
They used to peel daily. Yes I have a CHARACTERISTIC TRIANGULAR area effected on upper lip. But there was no painful inflammation, the entire peeling area was so red and borders were surrounden by fordyce spots.- Re: Hey Sargvy, just a few Questions... Maxime77

This is a reply to # 2,094,251yes you named it!! red peeling area and forcyde spots...triangular upper lip... exactly same kind of EC as me and most sufferers here.
all right so i will start this strict oral hygien soon with oral-b mouthwash and a good toothpaste. i also need to grab this bepanthen ...on amazon probably.
It may be hard sometimes to do it after lunch if im not home though. how did you deal with this situation?

Thanks for the link you guys made with the psychological problem and lack of Vitamin B5.
I was beginning to think I would never find and answer to this EC! Man I am one lazy nutrition student, I always wondered why I never got it about pre-cursor vitamins.
I bet you guys find cures everyday for skin problems, hey maybe someday you can ask those Calendula officinalis study authors why they were so mean...they remind me a bit of someone I know(hint: Coulrophobia). I mean its one thing to claim cure but to say the authors "DECLARE no competing interests". They probably were competing with your team and your double-blind placebo study to cure EC.
Oh yeah I forgot, I apologise to all forum moderators, Webmaster - I am still waiting to be annihilated ;), and really I am sorry to each Curezone member I hurt and offended. I know it doesn't mean much coming from a clown, and that psychological problems are not an excuse to be an awful person, but at least I know the real reason for my EC type now. i.e. Pantothenic acid is not absorbed properly.
Also a warning make sure that any Bepanthen substitutes you guys use also states that it does not block pores (non-comedogenic will be stated) I believe the Bepanthen sold in Indonesia states this on the package but I could be wrong.
