Craniosacral Therapy

Probably my Last Session   18 y
Describes what is probably my last craniosacral therapy session.

Had a session that I never published about last fall. It was with a different healer than the previous sessions, and I was so relieved when he didn’t say anything during the actual craniosacral therapy part of the session! My other therapist was a chatty Kathy whom I just didn’t connect with. It’s like you’re going through all these deep emotions, and you have to keep up with the conversation at the same time! It didn’t work out for me. I am female and though I have sought out female healers for different therapies in the past, I am beginning to appreciate having a male healer more and mo ...   read more

My 3rd and 4th Craniosacral Therapy Sessions   19 y
This portion of my blog describes my impressions of my third and fourth sessions of craniosacral therapy one-and-a-half years after the fact.

It has been a while now since I finished doing craniosacral therapy (about a year and a half). I was a little disappointed with my therapist, ultimately, since she did not seem to take the approach of one who considers craniosacral therapy a modality with permanent results. Rather than recommend to me the total number of sessions I should do and rather than track my progress from session to session, she regarded the therapy as similar to massage. She said that if I was feeling better then I should stop coming for a while, ”especially,” she said, ”with the better weather coming up.” I think ...   read more

My Second Craniosacral Therapy Session   20 y
I went for my second session with the craniosacral therapist. Like last time, I came out feeling energized and very relaxed.

Once again, I have gone for a session of craniosacral therapy, and once again, I came out energized, relaxed, and a little tired. It had been almost three weeks since my first session. Since then, I had experienced some minor aches and pains in problem areas such as my left hip that had gradually subsided. After the first session, I was tired for a couple of days, but after that I felt increased energy and a greater sense of well-being. Furthermore, I felt less anxious and was able to do more things (agoraphobia has been something of a problem for me). I have felt more capable when in situ ...   read more

My First Experience with Craniosacral Therapy   20 y
Yesterday I went for my first session of craniosacral therapy. My therapist was trained in the Upledger technique. I was a little nervous, not knowing what to expect.

I decided to go to craniosacral therapy after considering its supposed effects: increased energy and the healing of old injuries. I was interested not only in something that would help my anxiety and hallucinations but also in a technique that would supposedly help the physical healing process. I had reviewed many bodywork techniques and considered which would help me the most. Craniosacral work sounded the most dramatic and effective. I also picked this therapy for its ability to induce more or less permanent changes. The therapist used different techniques, alternately pulling on my l ...   read more
