looking for some info
I'm going to try fasting for many reasons. I feel like it's something I need to experience spiritually. I also feel that my body could use the detoxification benefits and I am about 20
pounds over weight.
I've never fasted before and I'm looking for some good sources of information. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have quite a few newbie questions too...
How long should I aim for on my first fast? I was thinking maybe 7 days. Should I go for longer if I feel good after that?
How much water should I drink while fasting? How do I know if I am in trouble? What are some of the warning signs that it's going badly?
Should I avoid physical activity completely? I sometimes play basketball for a few hours with my friends. I run in the mornings and work out on occasion. I am assuming that it wouldn't be safe to do these things while fasting.
How exactly do I go about breaking the fast and not gaining back all the fat that I lost? Also, when I break the fast, should I avoid physical activity during the recovery period? How long does it take to get myself back to normal?
Last question, if all goes well and I feel the need, how long should I wait before fasting again?
