Re: Essure
Hi Amy,
I had the Essure procedure in March last year. I had no sedative only a ibuprofen-like painkiller in advance. The inserting of one spring was no problem, the other took a little more time and my uterus cramped. However I did not feel any severe cramping pain or any severe pain during the entire procedure. The doctor and nurses were very kind and explained everything what was done. I could watch the procedure on the monitor: fantastic!Within 20 minutes it was done and I went home. The whole afternoon I had cramps, like I was menstruating havely, but they deminished every hour and the next morning I played badminton like a pro. I can really recommand this way of sterilization!
However after 3 months the HSG showed only one tube was closed. (just like you) although the Ultra Sound before showed the springs were at its correct place. 2,5 months later (Augus) the 2nd HSG showed again the tube did not close yet. (By the way, these HSG's are quite painfull). My Gynaecologist is searching for information what about to do now, and if there are more woman like me and how about their follow up, but I have not heared from her yet.
Amy, I am curious about what you and your G. are going to do now? Or what maybe already have been done.
