Few books are worth reading, but on the very issues you raise, I'd like to recommend an outstanding book, picked by Christianity Today as their Critic's Choice Award. "Restoring the Christian Soul" Leanne Payne. This is a once in a decade book. I think it can help. The very first few pages are dealing with self hatred through Christ. Very simple, very profound, and very practical and biblical.
