Hi Sandy.....
I posted a message to you on the previous page before I read some of the more current stuff here on page six. (I haven't made it through all the page 6 posts yet).
But now, when I look back on page 5 I can't find this post where it should be, but I can find it under my name's list of postings. LOL... I have no idea what that means, but I am copying it and pasting it here, as I still feel led to share these thoughts with you. I would love to chat with you by email....you and I have alot in common and I would like to share more with you about this stuff and learn more about your situtaion. Please feel free to email me if you like!

Here is my post/excuse the length of both of these :)
For Sandy....Im just curious...if you have not read Fuhrman, what source or sources are you using as your background/ support/ knowledge about water fasting?
I ask this because
Water Fasting is not something (or any kind of modified fasting for that matter) to be entered with a cavalier attitude. If you are not careful you could seriously endanger your health. I went on a 35 day master cleanse in November. Foolishly, I attempted a long
Water Fast in mid-January. It was probably too soon for my body to handle that and it was entirely not necessary because my reasons were purely for weight loss. If I had just begun the ETL plan by Fuhrman (which I am doing now), a short
Water Fast could have followed closer to the end of my weight loss goals or not at all.
The
Water Fast was an incredible experience and I really enjoyed it once I made it past day 4. I cut it short after nine days when I realized the constant dryness/ thirst/ soreness in throat and mouth (24/7) could be evidence of 'true hunger' which could be a dangerous condition. The fact that I had been on an extended
Master-Cleanse could have led to this 'true hunger' appearing so soon into the fast. I don't know for sure, but since I had no medical supervision, I decided to break the fast and begin the ETL eating plan. I have not regretted that decision but I look forward to perhaps another water fast someday in the future.
My point is that I hope you are not just gleaning information from the boards and not studying authoritative sources such as Bragg (I have not read yet) and Fuhrman. These, and some others, are tops in this field and have done massive amounts of clinical research. If i hadn't read Fuhrman, I would still be on the
Master-Cleanse board and Lord only knows what else I would be involved with now.
If that's a bit too strong for you, I can only say that I am no expert either and just voicing my opinion from what I experienced on the
Master-Cleanse and the water fast and I can only say I treasure more than those experiences what I learned by reading Fuhrman's books 'Eat to Live' and 'Fasting and Eating for Health', the latter I read twice. At the minimum, I have learned that fasting and nutrition are very involved, and sometimes complex health issues and great care should be considered before engaging in fasting and care should also be considered before giving out advice on either topic.
To advice someone to just do what is best for them without any solid background and not even a minimum of research on one's part is irresponsible in my opinion. Maybe you have done at least some research, other than quoting other 'layman' or forum conversations, and that is why I asked that first question.
Just wanted to share that with you. I kinda know where you are coming from...it has a 'nice ring to it' to be able to say 'do what is best for you' or 'take what you need and leave the rest', but hopefully that is only after very studious, serious, involved research which should depend on the experts in the field...the cutting edge folks, not the folks who are just yakkin it up on the boards. Not that there is anything wrong with that, by all means, I have learned some very valuable info that way also. But behind that, in our own selves, should be a growing body of solid research from the experts. Fuhrman is just an excellent beginning point. Much can be learned on his website also.

Enjoy and good hope to you in your journey to health!
