I wouldn't be surprised if things from dogs can be transmitted to humans on some level. Have you called any vets offices kind of annonymously and asked a question for the vet? Like this: Hi, I wanted to ask the veterinarian a question if that would be possible. My dog has mange and I've had a strange patch of skin on my face for sometime. Is it possible the dog could have transmitted the mites to my face..I mean I don't know..but you would think because if you rubbed your face on a spot the dog sat or was laying previously with out knowing...ya never know.
What might be good is getting one of those little skin patch tests done by a dermatologist. It doesn't hurt at all. Just set up an appointment for whatever it is..dry skin or inflamation. You shouldn't have to give much details. But once in the dermatologists you could inform them about your dogs mange and they could definately tell you if there was some link. I would think. They take the skin and put it on a slide and it gets looked at to see what it is. Like fungal or whatever. If they know what it is then hopefully they can tell you how to get rid of it. Do you have health insurance so you can see a dermatologist?
