Re: Can't stay away.
A tough deal all right. Yikes. Nothing weak about it by the way.
And in case it sounds as if I'm all Zen about these things, there's a guy I haven't seen in 21 years and still miss very much and throughout the day when he comes to mind I have to stop and tell him "Bye!!!!" 3 times, out loud, waving my arms, taking deep breaths. 21 years. You're allowed to laugh. (That does not mean it's gonna take YOU 21 years. Or anyone else.)
Like a fever. We know it's hard, and we buckle in and stock up on lemons and tissues and apple juice and fresh sheets & towels, get all ready, predict the symptoms, do only activities that are going to help, and slog through it and then we get out the other side and feel a lot lighter. Maybe that sounds corny, but.
Be real patient and steady with yourself, it's a long process and an educational one. At least the rest of your life can balance and catch up, now that you are taking a breather. The sporting event sounds like a good start.
Best of luck with it all!
