Re: Hemp, please help me understand.
NETAV - not to mention that it's more durable, and softer than, cotton, and it doesn't need to be as processed as cotton does in order to be made into textiles, which would put less strain on our environment. i've been on that soapbox for years. you can get lots of valuable info from The Body Shop, you know, the British cosmetics company. wheelslip is right - it's all a scam. and if you want to take it any further, how come some drugs are legal and taxed (alcohol & tobacco) and others aren't (marijuana, opium, etc...)? it all comes down to the almighty dollar, and who has got it to spend, and who doesn't. personally, i don't much care for mind-altering substances, but if others want to do it, why be a hypocrite about it and say that some are OK and others terrible? you hear about "crack-babies", but FAS-babies (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) occur at a much greater rate. go figure. i still haven't been able to... sorry i can't help you understand. or maybe i have? just remember, word-of-mouth is pretty powerful advertising. start buying hemp-products (shirts, bags, sheets) and someone will ask you about it, then you can tell them, then THEY'LL get interested and tell a friend, and so on. that's probably how YOU heard about it.
