I've used Colonix and simple Psyllium and Bentonite over the past two years. When I have not used the products, after a few months my symptoms return ranging from bloating, constipation, to paler lip color. There is absolutely no question that psyllium works with my system, however, mucoid plaque, I now believe that it really isn't anything either.

Psyllium essentially is a gel and when these so-called plaques are the psyllium combined with waste and toxins from the intestines. I have never, ever had mucoid plaque except when using psyllium. There is a balance in what both sides have to say. The medical community completely believes in using fiber and that is exactly what psyllium is, and the holistic community believes that the psyllium with Bentonite and other herbs can detoxify you. It makes sense.

I'm not an expert, but Dr. Anderson (I believe) coined the term mucoid plaque, and it's a great marketing term. It should really just be called "stuff that comes out of your body from using psyllium."
