See a doctor - if a hernia becomes strangulated death can occur very quickly. Not that all hernias are serious or need emergency attention. I have had a hernia (non-strangulated I assume) for 5 years and have not gotten around to getting it fixed. (lol??)

Still, better to have it fixed now when it is convenient than later when you may have no choice but to. Besides, they tend to get worse (larger) over time...
