Candida possibly - itching all over

In November '03, in response to an elevated blood pressure and cholesterol, I started on vegetable juices: mainly carrots, cucumbers, beets. 3-5 cups, for 2 months. BP and Cholesterol basically normalized.
But early in 2004, I started experiencing all over itching, skin sensitivity, and some hives. Never had it before.
Apparently, I realized, I overdid on sugars in carrots and cucumbers. Doctor states, but doesn’t conclusively guarantee, candida overgrowth.
Would welcome accounts of similar experiences and ways to get rid of that.
