Re: Master Cleanse and Blood Type "A"'s
Hiya,
I'm a type "A" and went really strict on the
Blood Type Diet for a while (nearly a year). I gotta say, the results weren't half as impressive as when I went sompletely raw for a month and started eating all those "non type-A" foods (tomato juice, sauerkraut, cayenne, etc.). As far as I can tell, there's some stock in the "lots of veggies thing" for type A's (course, when is that a BAD idea?!), and the low meat stuff, but I am unsure about the rest.
Anyhow, doing the cleanse now and feel great. If you are interested, there's some good web research to be done on the how all of the blood type stuff came about. I started it because a naturopath told me I ought to. Upon going back and doing the research, it seems that 1) a lot of the work was done on blood "in isolation" (meaning, not actually in the human body but on pitri dishes in a lab). To me, that's like dissecting the cat to try and find the purr. 2) there are over 25 different ways to categorize blood - A,B,O,AB is just one of them. I would assume if he'd used another, he would have gotten differen't results...?
That said, I'll say that I had moderate success when I did it, but I suspect (after my raw experience) that this was due to just paying more attention to what I ate in general and quitting red meat forever. I also know a "Type O" that was a veggie and started eating meat (on advice from the same naturopath). A year later, she has put on 20+ pounds, developed acne, lost her former constant exuberance for life, and seems a bit worn out...
