Well when I get them wet I make sure to produce a lot of saliva and get them on my lips and it really seems to help. But someone did use that method and it worked for them so aside from what we think saliva does, I personally believe it's the air that makes it bad. When it dries, wet saliva is pretty amazing if you ask me. Just my thoughts though.
