Re: Getting the energy moving...

Rent a shed. In order to sell your house, you'll need to clear clutter and be as minimal as you can. If your husband wants to keep the books, just move them to the shed along with furniture that doesn't fit the space or is overly worn.

When we put our townhouse up for sell, we ended up packing my daughter's baby books and bookcases that we put around the corner fire place to baby proof the room. We put our big chair and a half in the shed too and just had our sofa and window seat for seating. We ended up renting another shed just to de-clutter more. In the end, it made a big difference. We finally got an offer after the house sat on the market for 4 months. This was in 2005 when the housing market was beginning to crash.

Go ahead and get a 6ft bookcase it will fit the space and put his books that he can't bare to pack away and add a nice potted plant on top. Plants will help bring in fresh energy. Spider, and philodendrons look nice draping down over the bookcase.
