It's insidiously unbelievable :( Re: Unbelievable

I once helped a lady that had a friend that had a six year old she was caring for (some type of "foster" situation).  They had the six year old child on not one, two, three, or four, but SIX different drugs...and 4 of them were psych-drugs.

Someone needs to invent a few new words that combine extreme grief and extreme rage/outrage, so we'd all have some way to describe what we're feeling when we hear about it.

Before I "knew", my mom's doc yanked her off 3-5 mg of Klonopin in less than 2 months...she'd been put on the Klonopin to 'recover' from years of being on double/triple the maxmum recommended dosages of Effexor or Lexapro.  When she complained of 'needing to sleep/escape' (which is a typical effect of our brain/body being over-stimulated from the ultra-high doses of Effexor/Lexapro), her docs assumed she was lethargic due to her life-long depression. So they added the maximum of dose of Ritalin.  And of course, that caused her to feel even more of a need to 'sleep/escape', so they added an insidious drug called Provigil (which acts as a brain stimulant, and was designed for narcolepsy).  I had a 'script for Provigil once (because my psych doc at the time felt it would help me regulate my sleep schedule).  I took one of them and bounced off the walls for 8 hours while my brain was screaming in "speed pain".  It was horrendous.   She crashed & burned after about a month on that (atop the other drugs).

Then came the Lithium & Klonopin (benzodiazepine) to 'slow her down' (the Lithium made her a complete zombie).  After her doc yanked the Klonopin, within two weeks she was unable to function and in brutal hardcore withdrawals...and checked herself into a psych-ward.  The doc there tried to put her on meds for schizophrenia (and who knows what else - she said he came in every day suggesting a different drug).  After 10 days inpatient, they refused to listen to me (by that point, I'd put together most of the pieces), and they actually kicked her out of the psych unit because she wouldn't comply with drug-treatment and therapy.  (They had her in "group therapy" for 'negative thinking', telling her that her mind-bending anxiety and torturous w/d symptoms were due to her 'stinkin' thinkin' regarding a divorce that conflicted with her spiritual belief system).

There was no WAY she could function or care for herself when they kicked her out.  She's now 72 and still living with her 73 year old sister because she lost so much of the 'scaffolding of her life' in the 4-6 years of 'benzo-psych-drug hell' that she doesn't know where to even start to 'begin again'.   Instead of being the vibrant, loving/caring, get'er done woman that she was (mother & grandmother extraordinaire), she's now lost 6 precious years of contact with the grandchildren, and they lost the adult that was (actively) the 3rd most important adult in their life.

The statistics are clear - modern medicine IS the first leading cause of death.  But for every one that actually loses their life, there must be 10 or 20 people that lose their life but keeping on living (like my precious mother) - mentally and/or physically disabled (or both, or worse).

I am sorry you had to learn the truth from a horrendous experience of your own - but I am so glad that you're getting through it (and will likely suffer no long-term damage).  The thing that I am most glad for is that you now understand what is happening, and I know that your knowledge will ENSURE that this NEVER happens to your precious children (and that it might it ensure it doesn't happen to many others).

While I believe we all should eventually 'ditch the bitter anger' as to not hurt ourselves, I also believe that we should NEVER lose our sense of outrage for this insidiousness!  There are thousands of people falling prey every day!!!

SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOP LOUDLY!  We're going to have to scream 'with all our might' to make our voice of reason heard above the cacophony of lies being embedded in the minds of our children & fellow adults...but we will make a difference in the lives of millions if each of make a difference in the lives of just a few!

Thanks for sharing!
