Younger generations especially, that have always been dependant upon getting food from a grocery store, and not producing it themselves, nor putting food away in storage..will have the hardest time. We were just talking about this yesterday. Old timers around here, used to have to put enough food away for months, literally months, with no trips to the grocery store to restock. I'm glad I had my grandmother spend time with me, teaching me the importance of being able to fend for yourself.

My dad told me that the first thing his father always made sure they had when they had to move someplace, was a root cellar for storing food in. My 80-something year old mother-in-law still has a root cellar she stores her winter supply of stuff in.

Small scale farmers/ranchers, are getting fewer and fewer.
