Wouldn't copper contacts, connected to a frequency (audio) generator which is plugged into an outlet produce a "grounding" effect?

I am not a big electrical person but from what I do know I would say not likely. The diodes in the machine only allow energy flow in one direction. So the energy would not be allowed to run back though the machine to a ground if I am understanding the set up you are are referring to correctly.
