Making kefir is fairly easy.

1) You need kefir grains. You can probably find them at health food stores, if not you can find them online (like http://www.mercola.com).

The Weston Price Foundation shares Kefir grains for free. Anyone that currently makes kefir can share some grains... they multiply as they make kefir.

2) You put the grains into a 12 ounce mason jar of (raw) milk and leave it somewhere (not in the sun) for 24 hours. In 24 hours the grains grow and have transformed the milk into kefir.

3) Separate the grains from the kefir by using a very coarse strainer. If you're not immediately making more kefir, put the grains with some milk and store them in the fridge.
