Are you saying that to make people feel bad about hurting gods feelings (sin), they needed to hurt and kill innocent animals, and that killing those animals was to somehow make them sorry for their sins?

Wow, now thats some serious guilt trip.

That would be like a father telling his child to kill their pet because that child did something the father didn't like. Pretty sick.
