Salivary Gland Complaints

Though rare, salivary gland complaints do and can occur. There's even a form of salivary gland cancer.
Before we jump into this subject matter, let's first understand what is a salivary gland, especially since we all have them.
"Salivary gland." One of three pairs of glands that pour their secretions into the mouth, thus aiding the digestive process. The salivary glands are the parotid, the submandibular, and the sublingual glands. They are racemose structures consisting of numerous lobes subdivided into smaller lobules connected by dense areolar tissue, vessels, and ducts. The ducts ramify inside each lobule, ending in alveoli. One kind of alveolus secretes a viscid fluid containing mucin. The other kind secretes serous fluid. The sublingual gland secretes mucus; the parotid gland, serous fluid; the submandibular gland, both mucus and serous fluid. The lobules of the salivary gland are richly supplied with blood vessels and fine plexuses of nerves. The hilum of the submandibular gland contains Langley's ganglion of nerve cells." Mosby's medical Dictionary, 3rd ed., p. 1049
Blocked salivary glands is a perhaps the most common salivary gland complaint. Blocked salivary glands denote a defect with the grand secretory system called the Endocrine system (also known as the Hormonal System).
When we think about the salivary glands, we may think about spit (spittle) or spitting. Metaphysically or symbolically, spit refers to "dropping knowledge" or "kicking knowledge", slang terms for teaching, educating, informing.
But 'spit', or 'to spit', also denotes expressing one's self, especially one's higher truth, one's higher creativity.
Metaphysically, you may be under "spitting" your knowledge or over "spitting" your knowledge? Or, you simply just may not be expressing yourself, your feelings and/or thoughts!
If you're over "spitting" (expressing, verbalizing), you may need to go in silent mode for a while and let those blocked glands heal and become unblocked.
Or, if you have been refraining from "spitting" your knowledge (and speaking your truth), you may have caused a blockage energetically at the site of the Throat Plexus (5th chakra), site of higher expression and higher creativity and where we speak what we stand for which originates in the 3rd chakra (solar plexus).
It could be either or and only you know. At any rate, actions must be taken, whether "over" or "under" spitting. I always say: TO EXPRESS IS HUMAN!
Because the salivary glands play a role in digestion, the root cause of the blocked salivary gland(s) problem, metaphysically speaking, could also be in the area of you having to digest too much of something, perhaps information or data.
When we digest too much mentally, or on the mental level, it will manifest below in the digestive tract with digestive complaints. The maxim of "As above, so below" is applicable here.
If salivary gland cancer is the case, this would simply denote an "eating up" on the insides (of the body) due to not speaking up for one's self or expressing one's self, especially one's higher truth.
Cancer of the salivary gland could also denote speaking vile and negative words at people; saying things that eat you up (make you feel bad afterwards) or saying things that make (or made) others feel bad. Disease is a form of bad karma manifested.
Perhaps you digested so much negativity spoken to you from others without ever speaking up for yourself or defending yourself that the situation simply "ate away" at you. This is what cancer does to you on a physical level: eats you up.
Now when you suffer from a condition whereby the mouth is dry and there is lack of saliva in the mouth or a lack of production of saliva in the mouth, that means the salivary glands are defective (due to some cause, energetic and/or otherwise). You can reverse this condition by drinking 6-8 glasses of water (with liquid chlorophyll added) and drinking vegetable juice daily, swishing the juice in your mouth from side to side for a few seconds before swallowing it.
Natural Remedies
You can heal from all salivary gland complaints naturally!
Drink warm water, lemon or lime juice (from 1 whole fruit), and a pinch of cayenne (40,000 HU) or paprika (20,000 HU) daily.
NOTE: H.U. stands for heating units. Cayenne is hotter than paprika, and African Bird Pepper (180,000 H.U.) is hotter than regular Cayenne (40,000 H.U.). Ideal herbs to consume, that heal the endocrine system, and thus the endocrine glands and all other glands in the body, include:
Sarsaparilla
Fo Ti
Licorice Root
Ginseng
Suma
You can also chew on Licorice Sticks, unflavored variety preferably.
Also, gargle with warm water and
Sea Salt (1/3 teaspoon).
In a case whereby the mouth is dry and/or there is a lack of production of saliva, drink 6-8 glasses of water (with liquid chlorophyll added) daily, as well as drink vegetable juice daily, swishing the juice in your mouth from side to side for a few seconds (15-30 seconds) before swallowing it.
Suck on lemon and/or limejuice as well (if there is a lack of saliva). These usually help the body to secrete saliva.
Oil pulling will help this condition as well. Read our article "Oil Pulling" for more information and understanding on it.
The best thing to do to facilitate healing of the salivary glands would be to perform the "Full Body Detox."
Additional Dherbs.com compounds helpful for all salivary gland complaints include "(5) Fifth Chakra Elixer", "Mucus Buster Formula", "Oral Antiseptic Spray", and "Echinacea/Goldenseal (extract)."
And like Charles Wright and the Watts 103rd Street Band said in a song: EXPRESS YOURSELF! And if you have been doing this too much, BE QUIET! Perform a silence fast for a few days. A silence fast is when you don't talk or speak for a few days. You only communicate by writing things on a notepad so as to communicate with people in society, if you have to. This is a great discipline! It's far easier to perform when you are single than when you reside with other people in your home. It's also challenging to do during the week so the best time to perform a silence fast is from Saturday morning to Monday morning, breaking the fast upon returning to school or work.
Folks, the body is speaking! Listen and DECODE the message being specifically conveyed to you. Remember, the body speaks through metaphor.
