These formulas represent ratios. If you said 1 cup measurements, then one part would be one cup. If you were measuring by teaspoon, then one part would be one teaspoon, but the ratio remains the same.
Had Dr. Christopher called for weight instead of volume, he would had written in terms of
ounces or possibly grams. But an ounce of some herbs will fill the palm of your hand, while an ounce of lighter herbs might fill a gallon baggie.
Of course, Dr. Christopher COULD have chosen to measure by weight, using a metric scale, but honestly, it sounds like he just threw things together as fast as he could when someone presenting before him was suffering.
A "part" means whatever scoop you use to measure with, use it with all of your herbs, in these ratios.
I had this same question when I was making my first batch of Superfood. :-) We need to be clear on the answer.
