Jennalee I'm not surprised you're confused with the debate going on in here currently. Dry fasting is not dangerous. If you don't want water while fasting you can very safely go without it. Just about anyone anytime can go without water for 24-36 hours. Most of us can safely go without water for 3-5 days. Extreme heat or loss of water through sweating of course could effect these figures. But as a rule your body won't let you sit back and die of thirst any more than it would let you die of hunger without telling you something is wrong. When you're hungry you get a strong desire to eat and when you need water you get a strong desire to drink. If this wasn't the case animals would be dying of thirst in wet areas all the time. That just doesn't happen, if you're thirsty you will drink.
So be reassured on this Jenna. Your body is able to supply itself with the water it needs from it's fat cells the same as it supplies it's fuel from them while fasting. Because the breakdown of fat is increased for water needs there is more detox and more weight loss and often stronger symptoms while dry fasting. Symptoms both good and bad- there can be a lot more energy while dry fasting also.
