Let's document experiences with medical community when presented w/patient's body odor complaint

Hello everyone,

People from this forum have told me that they’ve started to get contacts in the medical field, including scientists, physicians, and sufferers that have key contacts in the community in the UK and U.S.  I'll try to organize the list of contacts to discuss it with everyone next week so that we can all work together toward a common goal.  If anyone here knows of other contacts in any country who would be interested in helping this cause, please let me know.

Once we have this list organized, I think that we should start by asking these contacts what course of action they recommend we take to not only heighten awareness of the causes and impact of serious body odor (metabolic disorders, digestive disorders, infectious conditions), but to also to formulate a recommended protocol for medical doctors to follow when a patient complains of body odor.  After established, we would ask them to communicate it to the medical community in professional journals and to request that university Schools of Medicine throughout the world incorporate it in their curriculum.

Meanwhile, I would first suggest that everyone in the Body Odor forum and the TMAU forum, document HONEST and precise testimony of what their physician’s course of action has been when you told them of their body odor complaint by posting their account on this forum.   I know these experiences have produced a great deal of frustration, but let us present it in as positive manner, assuming that the physicians truly want to help their patients, but lack the knowledge of how to handle body odor complaints.  We are not looking to criticize physicians, but rather to determine where the process has not worked for us to improve it.

By documenting this, the professionals we consult with could make a determination of what can be improved in this process.  Hopefully, based on our documentation, the solution our professional contacts come up with, their recommended protocol can be published it in professional journals, and presented to university Schools of Medicine throughout the world so that they better train future physicians on this issue.

I have checked in the msn.groups forum, http://groups.msn.com/bodyodorsupport/general.msnw?action=get_message&mvi...  under the thread mustering up the courage, and some people have documented their experience in that thread.  This is the testimony we need to gather in our forum as well to present it to the medical establishment (our contacts), so that they can come up with a solution.  Please let's present this in a professional manner.

I think this is a good starting point.  So, let's ask all forum members to begin documenting their experiences with their medical doctors under this thread.

Second, let's ask all forum members for referrals of physicians, scientists, and medical students that may be interested in explaining to us which course of action to take to accomplish this task.

I'll be more able to actively participate in this process next week, but meanwhile, we can really use this info.
