You might find this book a very interesting read. There are Daoists (Taoists) who were known for all sorts of amazing feats with nature; including living for extended periods of time that would seem unnatural, living on air, sunshine and perhaps a bit of sap from sucking pine needles, lol, and even changing weather patterns! It's not just modern
Science and all the electronic gizmos that are capable of such things! I recall my taiji teacher bringing in some pictures of achieved Daoists. There was one photograph were a man had very long eyebrows that he actually braided, and they hung down on either side of his face! And he also told stories of a peanut farmer and his mother in China who lived in some of the sacred mountains. The mother had died; I believe he said she was in her 400s(!), and her son, who was in his late 200s, was now living alone! I cannot say whether or not this story is accurate since I did not meet them, myself. Although, I am certainly a believer that anything is possible, and that we really don't have the limitations that we think we do! There are also plenty of stories of people willing themselves to die, so why could it not also be possible for people to will themselves to live on air and sunshine? Or perhaps they don't even need that, lol! Who knows?!
Just very recently I had an experience where my breathing came very close to ceasing. It is difficult to describe what occurred; it made me think of what it might be like to be in the womb! My breathing was extraordinarily slow and shallow, and it was as if something else was breathing me instead of me breathing! I've also experienced some pretty interesting fluctuations with my blood pressure and my pulse rate.
Hey, why don't you do some experimenting and report back to us about your findings?! Personally, I love to eat and I'm going to keep enjoying my food, lol! And breathing, too, lol!
