This is a reply to # 905,357OK so you would need to list every ingredient that the recipe called for! Were there eggs in it? That is a well known allergy, so is nuts..
Was there shortening in it?

Let me say, I know all about nutrition. When I eat junk it is junk I've made. I worked in a hotel kitchen for more than 7 years and did the baking when it was necessary. Baking is fun! If you're going to eat junk, make it yourself, it'll be healtier.
The reason there are so many chocolate chips in the recipe is because I don't like Trader Joes Chocolate Chips and I wanted to get rid of them.
I'll deal with my red patches tomorrow!?!

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE BRITTLE 6/25/2007
*Use 12 ounces (2 cups) of chips in cookie recipe. Don’t follow “frosting” directions. I melted another 1 ½ cups of chips and spread this on top.
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 ½ teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
1 package (12 ounces – 2 cups) semisweet chocolate chips*
1 cup chopped nuts
Beat butter, sugar, vanilla and salt in a large mixer bowl. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in 1 ½ cups chips and nuts. Press into an ungreased 15X10 inch jellyroll pan.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven, 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and set. Cool until just slightly warm.
(Too much trouble, see *) Microwave remaining ½ cup chocolate chips in heavy duty plastic bag on high (100 percent) power about 1 minute; knead. Microwave at additional 10 to 20 second intervals, kneading until smooth. Snip tiny corner from bag: squeeze to drizzle over cookies in pan. Allow chocolate to cool and set; break cookies into irregular pieces. (Just cut the cookies.) Makes about 2 ¼ pounds.
NOTE: Omitting nuts could cause cookie to become dry.

Actually most of those ingredients could cause that to happen.. I agree with ya that makin your own junk at home is healthier, sad thing is that so many of the ingredients aren't healthy for us
Sugar = BAD NEWS, our bodies don't like it, its been processed from its natural state, bleached white on top of that, and our bodies don't know what to do with it
Salt (white table salt ) = BAD NEWS, this too has been processed and bleached and it is not the salt that our bodies need, Sea Salt is a good substitute for that but make sure its not bleached Sea Salt , and then theres pollutions of the sea, so its best to go for a Himalayan Crystal Salt
Flour, Again most use bleached, and then even the unbleached flour isn't made of anything that we could actually call healthy, look for a healthy baking flour to replace your average flour with
Chocolate chips, well we all know whats in those.. check ingredients and opt for natural alternatives to that for a healthier choice
Nuts are good for us but unfortunately a lot of us have nut allergies, some of us that don't think we do may have an allergy to them that come out in ways we would never suspect
Nutrition4skin.com forums does a lot of research on different things like this.. they are a good source for alternatives for eating as well as medicines
They also have some natural Psoriasis medicines too as well as for other ailments
I have tried several of the products and love them, the best part is they are all natural and they contain no irritants and that was a huge problem for me with everything else i have tried, prescription as well as anything else i found in drug stores.. most everything contains irritants and perfumes and additives that actually aggravate the skin even more.
Anyway.. i know quite a few people in the forums over there that are using these products and most seem to love them.
Good luck with your red patches! I hope they fade soon.

The patches are normally a light color, then they can get more red. I'm sure it's allergy related.
