Hi,
I don't see how OP could be construed as a money-maker unless the makers of unrefined/cold-pressed/organic oils have bonded together to promulgate it to get a very small group of people (us) to buy a large variety of brands and types of oils! I'll be the first one to get annoyed if anyone markets an oil that is "designed" for oil pulling -- one of the great things about this therapy is that you can do it with the oils that are sitting in your kitchen cabinet.
I'd be interested in seeing that article -- I can't imagine a "disgruntled former oil puller"!
All that said, I know there are people who have had strong reactions to oil pulling -- uncomfortable and unpleasant ones. This forum is full of people who have had good reactions and who keep coming back to share experience, but there are certainly people who try it, don't like it/see results and who don't stick around, so our testimonials don't paint an exact picture of the results. (Although I think it is fair to say that there have been plenty of posters who have shared their negative experiences -- myself included.)
Like any alternative therapy, only the person doing it can ultimately determine efficacy. It can be an uncomfortable feeling to step into the Curezone world and try the different protocols presented here, because it forces you, not a doctor, to determine the course of action and to evaluate results. I am astonished at the power I used to cede to doctors -- I'd take medication A or medication B, not feel better, listen to some explanation and willingly try medication C -- never considering the fact that I was not feeling better, never looking at the fact that the doctor was as clueless as I was! I said in a recent post that OP has been far more effective than any of the many meds I used to take for
Depression -- that alone is a huge statement -- and it has been excellent for clearing out my endlessly clogged sinuses -- also a powerful fact in my life. Imagine what would happen if everyone threw away their Celexa and their Singulair, grabbed their bottle of olive oil, and started pulling! THEN we'd surely see some debunking articles...
I think it's good to question all of these processes fully, just as it's important to read through old posts to gather information about them before you do them. A skeptic is an important member of any group, and very healthy to have around.
Hope you all have a great day,
Laura
