Hi there. I'm Edward. I had this same thing occur to me too. I had it only 11 months and got to a point that it made me depress, it was that bad. Here is what I did:
1. Any lip skin that gets wet, push it and massage it into place. Continue this until for a 3 or 4 days.
2. After the third/fourth day (when the lips start looking bad from it wanting to peel off) grab a toothbrush and brush the dead skin off (It'll look bright red but don't worry).
3. Grab toilet paper and pat your lips dry and add a really small amount of aquaphor by dabbing it and pressing is on to your lip (don't smear or rub it against your lips)
4. The next day you wake up, brush your teeth tilting your head upwards so very little toothpaste gets on your lip (try and avoid any food/drinks that can tint your lips or get the dirty). Dry your lips with your finger by patting down on your lips. Then add very little aquaphor, (don't add a lot through out the day, too much is bad). Repeat this whole process until you see results of your lips sticking back into place.
5. Once you see results, your lips will last longer without them getting dry or wet from drinks or showering.
6. Showering, try avoid the water hitting your lips. Shower every THIRD/FOURTH day so it can follow the time frame of this whole process. If you do shower on these days (3rd/4th), brush the dead skin off your lips in the shower.
I hope this helps. It has for me and I've been doing it for a month in a half.
