I had the devil for 3 years and it has been out now for 2 months. I have had two periods.
I am starting to lose hope a bit. One of my worst symptoms while on the IUD was cystic Acne month after month that I developed while on the IUD. I was hoping it would be clearing up by now but I am sad to say I am still getting the darn bumps (several of them) right before I start my period. Now I will say the Acne doesn't seem to be as severe as when I was on the IUD but I am still getting several under the skin bumps that take weeks to heal.
Please someone give me hope out there that it will go away one day and my face will be clear like it was before the devil entered my life! Or possibly you can offer suggestions on how to fix it that doesn't involved hormonal bc....I am 100% convinced my Acne is hormonally related and I will NEVER go on BC again ever in my life!

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,340,313hi , If the Acne is appearing in the week before your period it is more than likely hormone related. Have you had your progesterone levels checked??? I had very low progesterone levels after the mirena was removed and had pimples along my jaw line and forhead. I started using a bio-identical progesterone cream and the pimples are gone and my hair and skin are much better. Hope this helps,

This is a reply to # 1,340,463You can get your levels checked by doing a simple saliva test at home, the kits are available on the internet, I bought mine from a compounding chemist in town. My progesterone was not even detectable and my estrogen was off the charts. The progesterone cream that I use is by prescription only and is called Pro-feme 3.2%. I'm in Australia so I don't know if you can get it elsewhere. It is a bio-identical progesterone cream, not progestin(hormone in mirena).

I have had the same issue and I am an esthetician so for sure I feel your pain. Here I am a skincare professional and I can't get my face in check. I had it for almost four years and just had it removed on December 18th. My skin is much better than it was, shockingly so, but last week, I flared up with a few cysts on my jawline and cheeks. I figure the timing is right on in the mid-cycle.
