Wow! that is interesting story. How long did your hubby do the ACV before he got cured. I ave tried ACV with cayenne and honey, but did not help me. Also 8oz water 1 spoon if ACV and how much baking soda?

How would i know if i have to much or to little acid in my stomach?
I was diagnosed with barrets few years ago, but i never had heartburn in my life,
my doctor said it is becouse the acid stays lower in my stomach so i cant feel it.
So how would i even know if its working for me or not?

That's great. Could you tell me the quantities of apple cider vinegar, bicarb and honey. Is this taken seperately or all together.

Sometimes we take stuff to combat excess acid, when the problem is lack of acid. I have had dyspepsia and discomfort for several weeks now, and gaviscon etc has not worked. I have hypothyrodism and i think lack of stomach acid can be a problem with that.
I take digestive enzymes and probiotic but still have flatulence and discomfort. I don't have diarroah (sp) or constipation.

I'd like to give this a try.

Quick Action Plan for Preventing and Treating Heartburn (Acid Reflux of GERD)
.

1. Conventional physicians recommend over-the-counter antacid medications for heartburn. Although these drugs can provide temporary relief, long-term use may be harmful, as they reduce the amount of stomach acids necessary for proper digestion and assimilation of food.

2. Screen for food allergies , which contribute to poor digestion, thus leading to heartburn. Avoid the following: foods you are allergic to, eating too many different types of foods at the same meal, drinking excess fluids during the meal, wolfing down food, or eating under stress.

3. 4. Eat an organic whole foods diet, full of organic fresh green vegetables and green vegetable juices, especially freshly-made cucumber juice, which can provide instant relief. Free-range organic meats and poultry, and wild-caught fish are recommended. Drink plenty of pure, filtered water throughout the day.

I am not a doctor, so either way you will want to talk to them, but this is what I have to say as a long time sufferer of Acid Reflux (G.E.R.D.)!

Three part answer information, what not to do, and what to do!

INFORMATION!!!!!!
I have a very severe case of Acid Reflux (G.E.R.D.). I have had to go to the hospital for some of the heartburn that I have had because the pain can become overwhelming or your breathing can be effected. It can be caused by Smoking, Drinking Beverages with caffeine (My case), Drinking Beverages with Alcohol, or can be Hereditary

The good thing about G.E.R.D. is that it can be a temporary thing and can be cured. It is never a permit thing even if you end up with it for the rest of your life it has the ability to be cured.

G.E.R.D. is caused by too much acid being created in your stomach. This can lead to or cause ulcers, esophagus damage, heartburn and/or damage in the mouth.

WHAT NOT TO DO!!!!!!!!
In most cases, stress is a factor to the reflux if you watch what you eat and reduce some of the stress it will help. If you watch what you eat for about a week you should find relief, if you do not then that is when you definitely what to listen to the doctor. Things to watch for are as follows:

Fatty Foods
Citrus Foods
Foods That Contain Grease
Fried Foods
Chocolate (including any Coco)
Caffeine
Smoking
Alcohol
Tomato Based Products
Lactose

WHAT TO DO!!!!
The two foods that I recommend is Black strap Molasses and Raw honey. The apple is better for night time reflux while these will work for just about all of it. What you will do is take about a tsp. of whatever one you chose. Molasses being the better because of strength and nutrition, but must be use to the taste. What the substance will do is stick to the sides of the esophagus and do two things, one is heal and the other is protect.

On the healing end, both substances have a healing property in them, and as they sit on the walls of the esophagus they will heal it. This is also helpful if you have a sore throat in the morning from refluxing.

On the protection end, both substances are high in Sugar and when acid that is refluxed comes up to that the Sugar will neutralize it and it will not longer be a problem at that point.

I would also look to putting Cinnamon and Ginger in you diet, they have been know to help with digestion and will help you reduce the amount of acid needed to brake down food, therefore causing you to reflux less.

Hey Guys! Just wanted to follow up on this post because she is right! This horrible condition is fixable! I suffered from terrible burps allllll day and night due to GERD for months. i couldn't sleep. I had bad coughing episodes. shortness of breath. It was terrible. After more research i decided not to use over the counter meds because that is the opposite of what GERD ppl need. Like stated above - the reason for the acid reflex is because of the lack of acid. Since this is the case, the Apple cider vinegar and the baking soda diluted in water really works.
While these are great and work really well. The best remedies for my stomach were drinking hot water with a couple drops of oregano oil (really strong!! use little - you can always add more)
Take Vitamin C (1) 1000mg tab every hour (for the sore throat until it goes away)
I also had to change my bad eating habits. I was not eating enough greens. aka Food with earth/light energy(veggies, fruit, nuts, etc)versus low energy foods like bread and meat which are harder to digest.

My routine was to drink this Oregano tea in the morning with nothing in my stomach. this i found really soothes any pain because it has a numbing effect. Also this amazing oil has anti-viral, and anti-bacterial properties. After the tea i ate coconut milk with chia seeds. (this is good because no dairy to cause the re-flux and chia seeds cleans your stomach) later for a snack i ate a banana (easy to swallow with a sore throat & good for stomach) For lunch i ate a whole avocado and blueberries with another banana. Right after lunch i had another Oregano oil tea. I did this for one day and my burps are gone. GONE!!! i am still continuing the low carb/veggie diet to maintain my health but i know after a few more days of this i wont need to be so strict. Hope you find this helpful.
