Most of the wight loss diets today, especially those touted in best sellers by MD's, are NOT HEALTHY and DO NOT WORK!!! [I've tried most of them over the years]
Extreme change in diet=stress=acidifying the body=storage of acid wastes that can not be processed in fats=WEIGHT GAIN!!! The more depleted that you are in alkilizing minerals, the more you will tend to gain weight and be resistant to loosing it. This is probably a protective mechanism, to keep us from being overwhelmed by being too acidic.
So, when you "fast", IF you fast, which I DO NOT recommend, were you planning to continue the alk drink, detox baths, etc? Otherwise, you will just stress yourself and further strip your body of what it needs to heal.
At first, you may be able to gewt some temporary weight loss, but this will be at a hidden cost of aggravastion the probs that caused the weight gain in the first place. Often this loss is of vital structure and muscle, NOT FAT, so is UNHEALTHY!!!
Also, are you at war with your body? Or do you trust it to do the right thing given the right ingredients? This matters! Disrespect of your own innate healing process=stress=acidifying the body=storage of acid wastes that can not be processed in fats=WEIGHT GAIN!!!
I think that I responded abt this to you before...CHANGE YOUR BASIC PREMISES!!!
Society's standards are based on looks, not health. During most of human history, standards regarding weight have varied. They are merely opinions or guesses regarding what may be ideal. NEWS FLASH: Our bodies are dsigned to heal and live given the right ingedients to do so. Do you trust social convention or your Maker? Do you want to be a live large person or a corpse?
Loosing weight IS NOT the correct answer to every heath problem, even though the media and many experts are constantly saying that it is! Even many of the latest diet fad books admit that someone malnourished from dieting may have to nourish themselves and gain weight before they can loose any.
Have you had lots of weight fluctuation?
Been sedentary?
Do you have a very high BMI [body mass index] that is lots of fat in relation to other body tissues?
If the answer to these three questions is yes, the older you are the more likely that aiming directly at weight loss WILL NOT WORK and WILL DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH!!!
Weight loss is a RESULT and BENEFIT of better health, not a CAUSE of same.
All this being said, are you physically active as you can be, progressively setting new goals for yourself?
Did you just add all the calories in the detox drinks without adjusting the calories in the rest of yr diet?
Are you using the detox baths for part of your alkilizing needs? [They are low cal, and reduce the need for the alk drink, which has some calories.]
Consider stopping the whey. I found it both acidifying and weight gain producing. You can confirm the acidifying part for yourself by monitoring your PH after eating it vs when having eliminated it from yr diet.
And, yes, I am also prety heavy, abt 255 lbs/ 5'8". All of the above is based not only on extensive research but personal experience. I am feeling better and better, getting more and more actrive on the alk diet detox drinks and detox baths. Sometimes I gain a bit of weight, sometimes I loose a bit. This seems to come in phases as my body detoxes. Change can be dramatic...5-10 lbs either way.
Rather than obsessing on weight, I try to keep stress dowm, have regular and incresing physical activity, and regular appropriate sized, balanced meals of the highest quality food that I can find and afford. Not loosing weight yet, but am building lean body mass, strength and endurance. Am confident that the weight loss will come eventually, and I will finally find my optimum weight.
