I would like to add to the conversation~~with my experience.

My personal experience with parasites is that it is
an ongoing battle and that some parasites we harbor
have been with us a long time. Certainly I worm myself
once or twice a year and more often if I develop symptoms
of parasites. Hygiene is important but risks of parasites
are many; touching your pet, walking barefoot, dangling
your legs off a dock or swimming in rivers or ponds etc.

My naturopath was the one who laid out the protocol for
me and showed me in a dark field study that there is a
constant battle between my body and parasites, yeast and
at the time, free radicals. My job was to amp up my immune
system and to provide my *army* with nutritional support. I
did this with herbs and good nutrition but also, by killing
off parasites with herbs. It seems that scattering is
always an issue since even without any intervention, the
immune system is working to deal with the invaders to the
extent that they can. My emphasis in my healing work was
to increase the volume and quality of my blood, keep my
filters clean, and to decrease the parasite and yeast load
in order to increase the efficiency of my immune system.

I do think that your suggestions are important in that your
concerns do address the lack of a comprehensive approach,
but I am also concerned that your reaction may suggest that
people who use parasite cleanses are making their situation
worse and I do not find agreement with that, specifically
because dark field studies do show that herbs are effective
in knocking down parasitic infestations. This certainly is
not to say that parasites are life-threatening, but they do
rob the body of nutrition and their own life cycle and bodily
functions contribute to the toxicity in our body.

I also emphasized alkalizing my body too. I used a zapper
and have been a steadfast user of Essiac which contributes
many benefits to the human body and immune system~~

While it is difficult to say which symptoms can be attributable
to yeast or parasites, or in my case, cancer, I think that they
were interrelated and that I could not have returned to balance
without killing off my parasite load. I was taught about *cycling*
and that simply means alternating periods of killing or activity
with periods of rest or integration. Relative to parasites, it
enables the parasites eggs to hatch, to allow parasites to migrate
out of organs and resume their life cycles and then you hit them
again. It took a while but my efforts were rewarded with a lack
of symptoms, as well, a feeling of wellness and high function.

This is not to say that you or your family have a situation which
is as drastic as mine was, but what I am offering testimony to,
is that, I did have a severe parasite load and through systematic
and comprehensive management, I did reclaim my health and that I
did not have problems related to scattering that I would not have
related to my parasite load in general. My progress was all good.
Of course, I will add the caveat that I was under supervision of
a naturopath who I had complete faith in and so, the efforts were
not LIMITED to just parasite cleansing. So, hopefully that will
help people make the differentiation between using a treatment
and leaving parasites alone, thinking doing nothing would be better
than doing something. In my case, doing everything made the difference.
Timing was a huge consideration but fortunately, I had a naturopath
who conveyed to me the importance of avoiding a healing crisis...
while healing. Also, rotating treatments, since some parasites are
dealt with more efficiently than others using different formulas.
I have 4 or 5 different favorite parasite treatments and I use
them randomly and so keep the critters guessing.

Mushroom are very effective for some. I used
to grow my own and make Kombucha tea, but after
being diagnosed with systemic candida, I had
to give up all mushrooms and anything which could
ferment. I never went back to using mushrooms
medicinally since I found other herbs which worked
for me. This does highlight the considerations
though since some things work well for some and
for others other things may work better. Perhaps
down the road I will also go back to using
mushrooms again since I sure love them.

I am very happy for you that Reishi has helped, and
especially that it helped your friend.

For me, what is exciting is that there are more
than just a few options and so, over time, you
can come up with a list of things that work, and
discover new alternatives to try.
