Haze, thanks for your reply in the previous email. I received the results from my X-ray.I am trying to conceive and trying to determine if this can affect fertility.Here it is:
APOM and lateral views of the cervical spine; AP and lateral views of the lumbar spine are submitted.
CERVICAL SPINE:
There is flattening of the mid-cervical contour.The C4,C5 and C6 vertebral bodies demonstrate mild anterior trapezoidal configuration. As best as can be determined, there is no evidence of acute step defect of zone of compaction line apparent. This finding mitigates towards developmental wedging. There is unconvertebral hypertrophy with facet joint narrowing, subchondral sclerosis and other bony proliferative changes, mid and lower cervical spine. There is no other significant osseous, joint or soft tissue alteration apparent.
IMPRESSIONS:
1. Spinal biomechancial alterations noted.
2.Uncovertebral and facet arthrosis, mid and lower cervical spine.
3. Developmental wedging C4,C5 and C6 level.
LUMBAR SPINE:
Aleft curve of the thoracolumbar junction is visualized.Asymmetrical facet orientation and configuration at the L4/L5 and L5/S1. The L5 pars appear sclerotic. This may be stress related.
IMPRESSIONS:
1. Spinal biomechancial alterations noted.
2.The appearance of the L5 pars is most likely related to stress.
3.Facet tropism, L4/L5 and L5/S1
Can this affect fertility? I have done 9 adjustments this year( 1 more to go) and I can only afford another 10 next year because this is what insurance will cover.Will 20 adjustments be enough or do I even need to go next year. The report is quite technical, can you help me interpret in simpler terms.Do I need to take note of anything? Diet,supplements etc?My chiro was saying I am pre-arthritis.Will I really be prone to arthritis? Is this true? Thank you in advance for your help!

That is a mouthful to the lay-person for sure. In the cervical series report, (without seeing your films) I would assume that you have lost most or all of the normal curve in your neck. As a result, the biomechanics of your neck has changed. The result is that your vertebrae are no longer moving in the normal manner. therefore, your joints and discs are wearing down. This is commonly known as osteoarthritis in the medical realm and subluxation degeneration in chiropractic. Nonetheless, this loss of curve creates a weakening in the strutcure of your spine and puts significant pressure on the spinal cord and nerve roots. Over time as the curve in the neck is lost there can be pulling and stretching of the brainstem, spinal cord and nerve roots. this ultimately affects the function of your central nerve system. This system is controlling and coordinating everything in your body...including your reporductive areas. Now I am not saying that all conception problems are due to nerve interference (subluxation). what I am saying is that interference in the function of your nerve system is not helping the situation at all.
All of the terms used int he report are describing certain areas of the joints and parts of the spine. Notable at C4-C6 is evidence of degenerative changes.
In the lumabr views, you have a couple of joints on the back part of your spine that are oriented in one way on one side of the spine and another way on the other side of the spine.
Bottom line: I would encourage you to continue for as long as possible. I understand that finances is an issue. Make no mistake that your health must come first. Take a look at these websites for more info on degeration and how you can look up a DC who specializes in peri-natal care. Also, if you are not doing so, I would recommend "Taking charge of your Fertility" (BOOK) and drinking red raspberry leaf tea as much as possible to help strengthen your reproductive organs

This is a reply to # 782,050Thanks for your help. Really appreciate it. So which phase of subluxation degeneration am I in for cervical spine? Actually what caused this?For lumbar spine I think it is due to heavy things that I used to carry for my work.But I am not sure about cervical spine. Thanks for your other recommendations. I am trying to do more yoga. Do you think this will help my condition improve besides chiropractic adjustments.

This is a reply to # 782,104Hey again. Only a chiropractic adjustment can correct the subluxations in your spine. Only corrective chiropractic care (specialized within the profession) can efectively take a spine and restore it back to near normal. That being said, only 80-100% correction is available in Phase 1, 60-80% in Ph2, 40-60% in Ph3 and 0-30% improvement in Ph4. Yoga is great, massage is great, physcial exercise is great, but this type of problem requires specific chiropractic adjustments - Not simply an adjustment. there are essentially two types of Chiropractors - those that help people get out of pain, and those who not only help people get out of pain but work to correct the underlying causes of the problem through ongoing adjustments, exercises,nutrition etc.
What caused the subluxations in your neck?
There are three basic causes of subluxations: physical traumas, emotional stresses, and chemical toxicities. Physical causes could include the birth process, slips, falls, accidents, sports injuries, repetitive motions and improper lifting. These traumas can actually push spinal vertebrae into a misaligned position.
Toxic or chemical causes could include alcohol, drugs, environmental toxins, vaccines, and poor diet.
Examples of emotional causes of subluxations are grouped under stressful conditions such as loss of loved one, loss of job, divorce, etc.
This emotional/toxic connection relates to the muscles of our back and how they are adversely affected during these high stress periods. Our primary spinal musculature holds and anchors our spinal bones in their proper positions.
Muscle weakness or imbalance from stress, as well as improper exercise or obesity, creates a condition known as myopathology whereby subluxations can occur.
