Hi there,
I know I've already posted, but I'm now pretty sure I have been infected with lyme disease, and am taking immediate action.
I got bit three weeks ago, and have a suspicious rash at the bite area that started 2.5 weeks after the bite. Tests don't detect lyme until 6 to 8 weeks post bite. By then, some terrible symptoms can set in, and it is harder to treat.
Questions:
1. The tick bite occurred in Freiburg, Germany (south). Does anyone know if there are other tick-related diseases in that area outside lyme disease? Is lyme called by another name in Germany?
2. I've decided that it is in my best interest in taking an anti-biotic. I've learned that in Europe, there are over 300 strains of lyme disease. You cannot tell if you have lyme until you have symptoms, and once you do, it can become pretty debilitating.
Any suggestions on what to do while on doxycycline? I'm taking "Yeast Defence" and my doctor (MD, but alternative) also gave me Dyflucin...which I don't think I'll take.
Should I fast, do liver cleanses, etc.?
3. Does anyone know if lyme disease is called something else in Germany...some people didn't know what I was talking about when I asked about lyme?
4. Is there anything I should NOT do??
I'd love to not do any drugs, but I'm very concerned because all of my alternative contacts have said that lyme disease is a tough battle. I'm open to any input though.
Thanks!
KarenMarie
