Hi Rinna!
Well...you can read about the Sleep schedule, in depth here:
//www.curezone.org/forums/m.asp?f=190&i=10
I love it! I guess I'm on Day5 now...
The thing is, that BOTH my boyfriend and I are total night people! I have never gotten up early in my life! (hate it) I LOVE to sleep in and I've always thought that I NEED 10 hours of sleep a night (I love to dream).
Well, after the changes I've been through in the last few years (and 'unusual' books that started to appear out of nowhere - just leaping out at me, ya know?) - I came across this sleep schedule idea. I was intrigued (because of the heightened Creativity, dreams, energy that you get from it) and it made sense to me. So, we tried it! AND, wow, it is revolutionary, Rinna! I mean...Fasting for me was revolutionary in the same way. You have a habit: eating. And you just think, well, I HAVE to eat and you do it out of habit and necessity. Same with sleep...you HAVE to sleep. Well, when you realize that (in moderation and paying attention to your body, of course) you actually CAN function on 4 hours of sleep with a 1 to 2 hour nap - and you actually feel BETTER then..woah! It's something else. (same as that realization: wow, I haven't eating in 7 days!!! seems crazy, but it's not.)
Anyway...rambling on here...
The sleep thing really works for us...and we'll just do it for as long as it feels right. (I'd love to say I will start my year/spring this way EVERY year, but I've found you just can't say 'always' or 'never')
Oh yeah, back to the being a night owl thing. The neat thing IS, is that even absolutely hating to get up early in the morning (in our usual lives)....we LOVE getting up just before sunrise. I mean, to start your day that way every day is quite unbearably beautiful, I think. Anyone who knows that time of day will speak of the freshness, the quiet...the Atmosphere is just alive...and that Aliveness gets transferred to you. That's what I think...all is energy and you're getting the most Vital part of the day infused into your being. Sounds good to me. (feels good too!)
So, that's our experience with it. I have a sheltered back porch (in chinatown victoria b.c. remember?) that faces East...so I'm able to sit out there will all my plants and vines and spring bulbs and do a nice morning routine out in the freshness with the sun hitting my face. (our springs are usually pretty good)
So, I guess that's it...Oh yeah, the naps are quite interesting dream-wise.
