I don't have a whole lot to share here, but I'll share my experience and maybe others will too. I'm also 37;}

Is this your first root canal? I'm completely confused about root canals. I have four and almost had them all pulled (by a Huggins-protocol dentist). My husband begged me to just have them cleaned up (can always pull them later). He had a good point, so I still have them, but had them cleaned up over the past year.

Two were fairly new (if I had only known...I didn't even have pain and they did root canals;< ) so I had the little bit of Amalgam (a little on top, under the crown) removed and had the crowns removed (metal in them). They are filled with gutta percha.

Then, I had an old RC cleaned using a laser process. There are two dentist in the country who do this procedure, and I happen to be a two hour drive from one of them. I was asking him about bio-calex, and he said he didn't like it because it got so hard that you can't get it out once it is in. What he does is zap the roots with a laser so that all the bacteria is killed before closing up the tooth. I was tested for all the materials, so he used bio-compatible materials to fill, and also used kinesiology to further test the material.

I will say that I have never had any pain or pressure in that tooth until after this clean up. Now it is sometimes sensitive. That just doesn't make sense, b/c an RC procedure should elimate this, right?

I'm trying to keep a very close eye on my health. One thing you might look into is Cayenne pepper (Curing with Cayenne). _BOB, who is a regular poster here on curezone said that he still has 14 RCs (or something along those lines). He said that he's cured himself of Cronic Fatigue and other serious issues using cayenne. Maybe he'll post here, or you can post in the "ask curezone team."

The dentist that I go to is completely opposed to RCs. He follows the Huggins protocol, and strongly advised me to have mine pulled. If I only had one, two even, I probably would have. But four teeth is a lot to pull....they are part of the digestive process after all. The fact that he is so true to the Huggins protocol is why I went to him. I'd tried another dentist that followed Huggins too, but he said to me "remember, the ADA still belives that Amalgam is the best, long-term material to fill a tooth" as his standard disclaimer when I was in his office. It grossed me out and I *ran* out the door and never looked back!!! In my opinion, he had no backbone or belief, about what he is doing!!! He was reaping cash from both sides of the fence! It concerns me that your dentist still did a root canal, even though he calls himself wholistic? Did he discuss the potential problems with you?

My dentist hasn't replaced my temporary crowns yet, as he wants me to make sure I want to keep the RC teeth. Maybe you should avoid the permanent crown, just in case you want to reconsider. Stinks that it is a front tooth!!!

I'm interested in what others have to say. I'm sorry I don't have more definitive information for you.
